Our Programs & Services
Comprehensive support to help young adults aging out of foster care build stable, independent, and successful lives.
Safe Transitional Housing
Our primary residential program currently serves males ages 18–23. We provide stable transitional housing as a foundation for building independence. As our organization grows, we plan to expand our services to serve more young adults.
A safe home is the first step toward stability. Without it, education, employment, and personal growth are nearly impossible to sustain.
Life Skills Training
We offer comprehensive life skills instruction to prepare young adults for independent living, including:
Education & GED Assistance
Led by our Vice President of Education, Tim Duerksen, our educational programs help young adults achieve their academic goals. We provide GED and diploma opportunities, tutoring, classes, educational resources, and connections with teachers and educational professionals.
Only about 3–4% of youth who age out of foster care earn a four-year college degree, compared with nearly 40% of young adults nationally. We're working to change that.
Mental Health Support
Under the leadership of Jada Philbin, our mental health program provides trauma-informed support including behavioral techniques, family therapy, and coaching. We coordinate with social workers, therapists, psychiatrists, and other mental health professionals.
Foster youth often have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, or multiple placements, increasing their risk for anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other mental health concerns. Access to ongoing mental health support can make a significant difference.
Employment Readiness
Resume writing, interview preparation, and workplace readiness training to help young adults find and maintain stable employment.
Fewer than 45% of youth aging out of foster care have earnings in any given quarter. By age 24, only about 3 out of 5 former foster youth are employed, with earnings significantly below those of their peers.
Social Work & Case Management
Melanie Lynn leads our social work efforts, providing individualized case management and connecting young adults with appropriate resources and services in the community.
We use a trauma-informed and individualized approach, meeting each participant where they are and tailoring support to their unique needs and goals.
Mentorship & Community Support
Every young adult deserves a trusted adult in their life. Our mentorship program connects participants with caring community members who provide guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear.
Many young men leave foster care without permanent family connections or trusted adults to rely on. Our mentors help fill that gap.
